As many of you know Mama Said Tees is one of my favorite small shops and I shared this awesome campaign on Instagram and how two mothers are changing the world after a horrible act of domestic violence hit close to home.
Mama Said Tees is a small shop owned by two mamas named Colleen & Colleen. Just five days after they started their “little company that could”, Colleen Stine’s sister was tragically killed in an unthinkable murder/suicide, leaving her two nephews, ages 8 and 10, without parents. This made their mission SO MUCH MORE important than they ever believed possible. The boys have joined Colleen, her husband and their three young children to make one big normal happy family.
Meet Connor and Danny. They lost their parents in a tragic act of domestic violence. It hasn’t been easy. It’s going to be okay. Connor loves basketball and base all. Danny loves drums and lacrosse. They have a new brother and 2 new sisters. They have a new and different life. They are loved. They are normal. I’d love for you to watch this video to see just how they are changing the world http://youtu.be/B_ yIc7gOc40 and how they are redefining normal. It’s pretty amazing how they have come together to bring kinds into the world.

Redefining Normal
Imagine a world without stereotypes. Imagine a world without discrimination where we simply coexist and love one another for who we are. Imagine you are at a store and your child sees a little girl in a wheelchair. Instead of asking you what is wrong with her, your child simply smiles and says “hello”. Imagine a world in which we all view every single person as normal.
On April 29th, two mamas, who started a t-shirt company called “Mama Said Tees”, are launching their first campaign. They created a tee that has the word normal across the chest and did something pretty amazing with an equally amazing group of people. Their goal is for everyone to accept themselves wholly, inside and out, thus accepting others for their differences. They hope that everyone can learn to embrace ALL of the qualities that make people who they are. Everyone is different. Everyone is normal.
Here is how you can help: On April 29th, please help them spread their message. They ask that you post a video or a picture of yourself wearing the normal shirt with the hashtag #letsredefinenormal It’s that easy. Just one small step that can help change the world.
A portion of the proceeds will be donated to PACER’S National Bullying Prevention Center: “The END of bullying BEGINS with YOU.”
Leave a comment below telling me how you are normal. I can’t wait to read them!
