Being a Mom is one of the hardest and most-rewarding full-time jobs a woman can have. Am I right? I know so many moms are in my shoes when it feels like your duty as a mom is never-ending and there is no “me” time. Of course, I wouldn’t have it any other way but it’s also so important to create sometime just for you. So…as your friend and a fellow Mom I am here to remind you of five things that you can do take a moment and relax. It’s okay to put your feet up sometimes!
1. Cozy up with a cup of tea in your favorite chair and read a book.
You are probably thinking when am I going to be able to do that? But even reading to your littles ones is the perfect way to take a few minutes of together time and turn it into time for yourself too. I mean…at least you are sitting down right? I love reading to Kenzie & Hutt! Perhaps when all of your littles ones are in bed you can take 10 minutes and snuggle up to start a new book. Even if it’s 10 minutes everyday, it’s still a few minutes just for you! The Fringe Hours is a great book to read if you’re a Mom who is looking to make more time for you. It’s such a great read and a great reminder for moms!
2. Take a bath
There is nothing like a nice, warm bubble bath. Light your favorite candles (you might remember mine here!) and instead of taking a quick shower in the morning maybe go for a longer more relaxing bath at night. Calgon, take me away!
3. Go to bed early
Forget the piles of laundry one night, the dishes, or anything else that might keep you up after hours and the moment you put your littles to bed — you hop in bed too! Even if you are just laying down with your feet up, catching up on the DVR or really getting your beauty sleep — it’s important to be a happy mom, you’ve got to get some sleep! Sometimes hitting the pillow earlier then normal is great way to take some time for yourself so you can be healthy and get enough sleep.
4. Date Night
While this might mean time for you and your husband, I’ve talked about time with your spouse on my blog too and it’s really important to always remember to try and take time to date your husband. Get a babysitter and plan a fun night out! It’s such a great way to feel reconnected and to spend time with your other half.
5. Have a Dance Party
Take 5 everyone! That’s right. Put on some music and dance out your stressors. If you are having a bad day, feeling so stressed and just don’t know what to do. One of those days you just can’t win? Whatever suits you mood, turn on your favorite song and just dance it out. Kids will love it too!
As a Mom, what’s your favorite way to relax? I’d love to know!

A great way to relax is to just go for a walk! Hey…it’s considered exercise too!!

I am going to try these! Great ideas! I never take time for just my self! I have 4 kids 14,13,11 and almost 19 month old!!

They sound like simple things to do, but any mom knows it’s easier said than done. Intentionality is everything. For me, I enjoy getting the kids to bed, and watching a show (right now it’s been 7th Heaven reruns ;), but I like the light Hallmark holiday movies when they are on too) to unwind before doing any chores before bed.
Another way is to go grocery shopping alone. A luxury when you have 4 kids! 🙂
