With Father’s Day approaching, I am always at a loss of what I should get my main man. Michael truly is the most amazing father and husband, so celebrating him is something I take seriously. That being said, finding him a gift is always a little difficult. Usually I am more into experiences than material gifts, that being said, there is one thing that Michael has been drooling over. And yes, I have taken the hints. Don’t worry, my man doesn’t use social media, and he doesn’t read my blog, so I am safe to share.
Michael has been in a constant battle with our Jacaranda tree, those beautiful purple flowers are falling and making a total mess of our backyard. We have a big backpack blower but trying to deal with the gasoline has seemed to be a hassle and to be honest has it discourages him from using it. So recently he has come across the STIHL BGA 100 Battery Powered Leaf Blower
This thing is awesome. It is a light, QUIET, battery powered leaf blower, that will help Michael show that Jacaranda whose boss. It will give him the ease and convenience to actually get out there and use it. So it won’t be another tool that collects dust in the garage. Michael is the guy who loves to do everything himself, he is definitely a do it yourself guy. Heck we installed our synthetic grass for our dogs ourselves. He did the research and we did the work, he even maintained our pool for while, just so he could more fully understand the chemicals going into our pool and how the systems work.
So I am happy to say I found the perfect Father’s Day for my handy husband! He will get to clear our backyard with his new handy STIHL BGA 100 and have the the ease of doing so since it will be battery powered. Our backyard will be ready for entertaining in no time. I can’t wait for him to see it, I know he is going to be so excited and proud that I caught on to the hints. So I must say, I am claiming a win for this Father’s Day. I am looking forward to celebrating a truly remarkable man who continues to amaze me every day. He is the best father that I could have ever dreamed of for our children and I love him more each and every day!
How are you celebrating your man? What are your favorite gifts for Father’s Day?

Unfortunately, we’re not in a position to celebrate Father’s Day with anything material, and, as my husband is a 3rd-shift worker who will be working Sunday night, we won’t be able to do anything really fun on that day. The best we can do is just love on him. I WILL send him a cute e-card (he actually LOVES e-cards…go figure), and our daughters, who are pretty crafty (ages 11 and 13) will probably make him physical cards I DO have to brag on him, tho. He came from an emotionally abusive background, particularly by his mother. With is background, one would think that he would be horrible to women…and we have 2 daughters! That said, he is T-H-E most incredible, instinctive father I have ever met! He seems to know the perfect balance of discipline and mercy, and it’s awesome to see. We’ve been married for 30 years, and he never ceases to amaze me.

I am so excited because this is his first Father’s Day! I am like you and love giving experiences as gifts. I am planning a back yard camping trip since our little one is only 7 months and doesn’t sleep through the night. I’d feel bad forcing our parents to get up four times a night. I plan on setting up camp, getting him his favorite pizza and beer, some smores in the fire pit, and borrowing a projector and putting his favorite movie on the side of the house. How cool, right? He’s going to love it! I hope it is a Father’s Day to remember!
