So it has been officially 3 weeks since we have been without our water heater, one of those weeks we were out of town but it has been 2 full weeks of cold showers. And tonight I boiled the water for the kids, but not going to lie, this truly has been a humbling experience. I will never take a warm shower for granted again! Also I have a new appreciation for house work being that I have to hand wash EVERYTHING! So though it has been a bit inconvenient, I love the reminder of how truly lucky we are and all the things that are taken for granted. So yes, I would love a warm shower but I have to say that I am getting used to cold showers and hey we are saving money on our electric bill. So hopefully we are close to getting our new water heater. And why are we still without a water heater you may ask, well my husband took this opportunity to upgrade our system and he doesn’t like to be forced into decisions so he has been doing research and I think we are getting close to biting the bullet! Stay tuned, hopefully not too many cold showers in my future!
I guess I can always boil more water!
And yes this is fresh face. No makeup selfie!

Why is it taking 3 weeks to get a new one?

We had to go a few days without hot water last year and trust me it was a pain! I am truly thankful to have things like hot water. I couldn’t imagine having to go 3 weeks without it in our household. We have 2 girls 19 & 17 and a boy that’s 12. They are in various sports and my husband also has a mechanic shop so lots of showers needed here! Prayers you find the right one and it’s quickly installed. Little ones can share bath water at least!

Loved you on 7th heaven, definitely one of my favorites. The smallest things in life are often the ones we take for granted. Things like electricity, hot water, etc we don’t miss them til they are gone. Keep your head up good things come to those who wait. Stay beautiful and unfrozen. You are an awesome person. Good luck with the new hot water heater.

Ahh…the worst! The night we brought our baby home from the hospital, I turned on the water to wash my face and realized it wouldn’t get hot. I was so tired, I just thought someone turned the water heater down and we’d fix it in the morning. Turns out, it had broken while we were at the hospital. We didn’t have hot water for two weeks, and so many tears were shed because I was dealing with the initial postpartum period and no hot water. I definitely appreciate our new hot water heater now!
