Growing up birthdays have always been a big deal for me, I’m not sure if that is because I was an only child or what, but needless to say, as a Mom, I always vowed to make my children feel special on their birthdays. This doesn’t mean it always has to be a big extravagant party, just a day to be surrounded by people who love and adore them.
That being said, I totally stress about parties but somehow I always seem to pull them off. This year was particularly stressful trying to find the right location, our backyard is not really fit for a party so I had to look elsewhere. Of course, I waited too long to secure a park location but luckily my dear friend, Jess, just opened an awesome spot called Au Fudge and it was absolutely perfect.
I love the feel at Au Fudge, it almost feels like your at someone’s house, it is homey, bright and cheery. I went down to the Flower Mart the day before and did the arrangements the night before. I absolutely love making flowers and love having the personal touch.
Because I am a huge supporter of Shop Small, I wanted to definitely include some of my favorite shops in the celebration. Be sure to check out the end of the post for links to my go to shops.
