This week has been tough, and though I have known it was coming, it doesn’t make it any easier. This week we had to say goodbye to our little old man, Chico. Chico has been in our family for over 15 years, I still remember the day that I called Michael and told him I had a surprise, he said you better not have gotten a dog (he knows me that well and yes, I did get a dog on a trip to New York). I saw this sweet little baby and I had to bring him home. Chico has traveled with us to Canada, New York, and Colorado. He has been on road trips and many adventures. He was with Michael and I when we were college sweethearts, when we moved into our first house together, when we got engaged, when we got married, and when we started our family with our sweet babies. It was a tough watching our babies love on Chico as they unknowingly said goodbye, and watch Kenzie tell Chico repeatedly how much she loves him. And in just the past week Hutton has been running through the house yelling for Chico. Though neither Kenzie or Hutton knew what was happening, (I know I will have to sit down and explain it to Kenz, which will be incredibly hard), they had a calmness and gentleness almost as if they intuitively know. They were so good with him and just showered him with love which is impressive for a one year old and a three year old. They just sat there petting him and giving him kisses when normally they would only give him 5 minutes and be off to play, but they sat down with him and just calmly loved on him.
So farewell our dear friend, Chico. We LOVE you and miss you already! Thank you for 15 years of love and cuddles! Say hello to Tucker and we will see you again!
Here are some of my favorite pics of our feisty Chihuahua.
Thank you Grace Chon for these pictures that we will always cherish.

I’m so sorry about the loss of your fur baby. It really does hit hard, and right in the heart. They become our family, just like a child that depends on you. But he is in a better place, I do promise you that. He’s with all the others that went before him, and will be waiting to guide those that come after him. I will send up a prayer for you, that telling your babies goes well, that they understand, and that your heart feels a little lighter as the days pass. <3

Oh…..bless your heart! I don’t know why but losing a pet is so so hard and so hard and difficult for a family. We have a pet cemetary in our back yard and although comforting to know they are “close” still to our family….the ache it leaves is so painful and hard. I realize they are “pets/animals” and many people minimize the loss but until you have to lose a pet, it is truly hard to understand. Grieve and cry and cry some more! And always remember and cling to those fun memories !

I know how hard it is to say goodbye to your sweet dog. My mom had two Chihuahuas one past about 3 years ago while me and my mom was on a trip to Miami, FL for a cruise but he was safe with my poppop he loved him more then us probably lol so he was happy I know it when he past because he was with my Poppop so that makes me happy at least. Sorry for your loss again and I love the pictures they are so amazing.
