As soon as Michael and I knew we were going to be a FAMILY, we knew we wanted to have family traditions. We wanted to have a few super special places we go to celebrate our family. One of those traditions is going back to our favorite mountain town in Colorado. This place means so much to us, it is where we got engaged and always dreamed of sharing with our family. So now that we have Kenzie and Hutton, it is so special to take them to our little slice of heaven and see them grow and flourish. ... View Post
Heaven on Earth….
So as a family, we have a place that is pretty special to us, Crested Butte, Colorado, and we were lucky enough to escape there this past week. It is pretty special to be able to bring our children to exact spot where Michael decided I was the girl he wanted a family with, and now here we are. We have two beautiful little kids who love the mountains, love to ride their bikes, throw rocks and play in the dirt. Having been a city girl almost all my life, it is pretty magical escape to a place ... View Post
When it rains it pours…
So the past few months have been rough, it just seems like whatever could go wrong pretty much has, so I feel like I have taken a beating. I'm usually a super positive, stress free, go getter, but lately I just feel like I keep getting kicked when I am down. Though I know the world is not falling apart, though sometimes it feels that way, it has been tough to keep it together. That being said, I know this is temporary and I just need a reset! So today we head to Colorado, and though the ... View Post
Hiking Heaven
One thing that we always do when we are in Colorado is HIKE. There is something so magical about climbing those mountains and move. It truly is one of my favorite things! The feeling of accomplishment once you reach the overlook is worth all the muscle pain and heavy breath (altitude is no joke and I have definitely had my butt kicked through the years) however I power through! Michael and I have been enjoying this activity for years and it is pretty magical now that we can share it with our ... View Post
Going Fishing…
On our most recent trip to Colorado we decided to take the kids fishing. I have to say this was pretty awesome, when I was Kenzie's age and went fishing it was at this little place called Troutdale, it basically was a little pond and they starved the fish so you were always sure to walk away with a fish. I am pretty sure I used cheddar cheese for bait, but anyway, Kenzie is getting a chance to really learn how to fish, at a real lake with a real fishing pole (her Barbie fishing pole, don't ... A Little Piece of Heaven
So clearly you can see that I love Colorado, and one of the special places I have discovered is the super small town of NEDERLAND. It's about 30 minutes outside of Boulder and so charming and quaint. It's a hidden gem for sure and I love any chance we can get out there. Recently, we took the kiddos there to fish but first we had to stop in at the Carousel of Happiness. It is a super special HAND CARVED CAROUSEL that took over 26 to create. It is pretty amazing and the kids loved it, ok so we ... View Post
