It’s another day for a giveaway! If you haven’t already noticed, Casi of cupcakeMAG and I teamed up to do 24 days of giveaway and it’s been so much fun. I love being able to make someone’s holiday a little brighter and today, I’m sharing Tegu! If you haven’t heard of Tegu you are in for an awesome surprise because this is one of my favorite kid’s toys around. And well, it isn’t just a toy because it’s a great learning experience through play. Here is more about Tegu right from their website!
Why do we play?
As a kid, this was never a question we had to ask. Play was as natural as breathing. Couch cushions became forts. Cardboard boxes helped us rocket to the moon. Splashing in puddles was totally hilarious. Remember that? Play was our first taste of freedom. And in that freedom we discovered who we were, and what we could be.
But here’s the thing: today, play time is being crowded-out. Kids today have 8 fewer hours of free, unstructured playtime a week than they had 20 years ago1. That’s a problem. This time has been lost to hyperschedulized calendars, mindless distraction, and adult-driven play. The result? Imaginations are leashed. Play becomes restrictive. Toys get older quicker, piling up and cluttering more shelves. So we’re calling for a way to play that is endlessly new…boundless play. It’s not just a philosophy. It’s a call to action.Boundless Play is playing without an agenda and delighting in the joy of the moment. It’s a race to explore and discover. And it’s how Tegu makes play new, again and again.
