Lately this little miss has been giving me a run for my money. She has refusing her afternoon nap and that never ends well for me, because let me tell you know she NEEDS a nap. I find that towards the end of the day she is so exhausted that she lashes out. This has been a real struggle for us. My sweet little girl has been kidnapped and replaced with a little monster. I know she looks cute but man does she test my limits. And unfortunately bribery hasn’t been working, if only I could get her to nap. I am absolutely dreading the day Hutt starts his nap strike! I know this is only a phase and boy I can’t wait for this to be over. Not to mention I miss the days that I got to a take a nap too.
I know everyone has talked about the threenager and yes, she can definitely be a sassy little thing. She constantly amazes me with ability to negotiate. She is so smart and challenges me more than I could have ever imagined. I guess it all comes around. I’m sure I was a challenge, Michael says I can still be a challenge, especially when I am cranky from being too tired. I guess we know where Kenzie gets it from.
Too all the parent’s out there, we feel you. This growing up part is hard! I just have to remember that it is just a stage and she will hopefully will be back to her sweet little angel self soon after she NAPS! Why is it that kids don’t understand how awesome it it to nap, I would love it for someone to make me take a Nap everyday. Wouldn’t it be awesome.
By the way the adorable little dress Kenzie is wearing is from ELE STORY

Glad we are not alone! We still get our nap 😴 but the sass is growing! She always wants to “make a deal Momma” I have to stay a few steps ahead, that is getting so much harder!

I take a nap every day, helps me reenergize! What if you told her
You need a nap and she can lay down by you, that might work
and that way you both get a much needed nap!

Try doing quiet time where everyone lays on the couch and watches a movie. That use to work for my niece, she would fall asleep in about 10 minutes.

I can relate on so many levels. I have a 7 yr old (Kara) and 5 yr old (Gavin). Kara really never gave me too much of a struggle with naps. Gavin has proven to be my biggest challenge. He “stopped” napping right around 3 years old. I was totally thrown by that because surely a 3 year old can’t be done napping. Right? However, as a working mom of two, I needed those naps for my sanity. I also took naps when they did; it is the best (and only in my case) way to reset so that I was ready for the rest of our busy day. The big game changer in tackling the nap time struggle was bedsharing. As soon as I let Gavin take naps with me, the struggle was not as hard (I still had to get him in the bed, so the fight was never completely over 😉 ). On days when he would absolutely refuse to nap even if I let him nap with me, we would have quiet relaxing time. That was basically us laying on the couch, with pillows and blankets and just relaxing. Which eventually led to him falling asleep. Good luck, I hope you’re able to find a solution that works for you and her 🙂
