Ok so maybe not too crazy but it was something big for me. I got out and went for a walk, BY MYSELF! Now that is crazy! I have not worked out since Kenzie was born, I mean I am still active but I haven’t taken the time to get out and WORKOUT. And to be honest, I didn’t want to, up until now I never felt the pressure “to get in shape” I just wanted to be with my babes! But recently I have felt the urge to get back into a groove, to get moving, and get stronger! So I finally did something about it, lucky for me my family likes to sleep in, like til 9am or so, so I have taken that opportunity to get up early and go for a WALK, OK so maybe it wasn’t quite a workout, but trust me I am a bit out of shape so it was a workout. (My Apple Watch gave me a little extra encouragement, since I had to get in calibrated but whatever. ) It honestly, was awesome. I just walked, no music, no talking, just walking and observing, listening to the birds, and admiring the flowers and all that nature had to offer! It was a perfect start to my day, I got home before everyone woke up, and even had a chance to write this post. I think I might have to make this a regular routine. It’s nice to have a soul time to think and just breathe! Like my BIRD AND VINE shirt says “INHALE, EXHALE, REPEAT”! AMEN to that! What do you do for you?
Side note, I am so excited I just found the perfect ice cube tray for ice cubes for my SWELL bottle, because you know I love my water. Honestly, its the little things! And yes, this is a NO MAKEUP SELFIE! #nofilter

I think it’s so awesome that you went for a walk. I’ve been doing this on my hour break at work as well and I love it. Sometimes I walk with a friend. Other times I walk by myself. It’s a great thing to do for your body. Walking is definitely working out and such a good stress reliever! Keep it up!:)

That sounded like a nice way to start the day! I hope to get the same determination to get up early for a walk or a run too but i’m just too tired or too lazy to do so. Maybe one day i will.

Baby steps on getting into shape. I love walking usually with my dog and just absorb what is around. I live somewhat in a country setting (left busy LA) so I never know what I might see. Taking care of yourself is important. I now work out with DVDs 30 minutes each morning and I feel incredible. You sound like you are an incredible mom. I use to say “Bring a mom is doing this one day at a time as there really is no manual.” People give you a lot of advice but you go with your gut. Happy to be following you and see what adventures behold. My children are grown but guess what you are always a mom.

Soul time…I love that term!
My soul time is reading. I love getting lost in a good book. With 6 kids, I don’t read as much as I’d like, but when I do, I feel like I return from my journey relaxed, with a new perspective, a deeper well of patience, and energy to face whatever life throws at me.

It’s always the small things that make your day. I really love following you on facebook and here. Your posts like these make the daily tasks seem a little more special. My daughter is about to graduate kindergarten tomorrow and I’ve managed to prep the treat bags we’re giving her friends, make the cupcakes and keep the house cleaned. Small victory but I’ll take it!!
Cheers, Julia

Ah yes I know exactly what you mean! Since I had my daughter who will be two at the end of August, the “need,” to get back into shape has not really been there. I think I have been concentrating on other things other than weight loss, because motherhood is such an life alternating thing. Especially if it is your first. But now since she is a little older I am finding myself “slowing down,” taking a breath and wanting to make a change. Maybe get a little me time, as selfish as that may sound. Maybe to feel a little like how I did before I became a mom. Or to feel like my old self is somewhere in me where being a mom has replaced that. I hope that makes sense. Sometimes as moms we need to feed our souls by taking sometime out for ourselves and do what makes us feel good whether that be watching a movie, exercising, reading. Something that makes you feel good!
